Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 11/09/2026
Welcome to Sofia. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you, when you use sofiamagazine.com (the "Site"), whether you're reading our free articles, creating an account, or subscribing to The Exclusive.
By using the Site, you agree to these terms. We’ve kept them in plain English wherever possible, but please read them carefully.
1. Who We Are
Sofia Magazine Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales.
Registered address: 1 Pioden For, Barry, Wales, CF62 5DD. Contact: contact@sofiamagazine.co.uk
2. Using the Site
You must be 13 or older to create an account or use Sofia. If you're under 18, we'd recommend having a parent or guardian aware of any purchases you make.
You agree to use the Site lawfully, and not to:
Attempt to access parts of the Site you're not authorised to (e.g. paywalled content you haven't paid for)
Copy, redistribute, resell, or publicly share our articles or magazine issues without our permission
Use the Site in a way that could damage, disable, or interfere with it
Use any content from Sofia to impersonate us or imply an endorsement that doesn't exist
3. Accounts
To access certain features (free weekly article emails, purchased issues, or an Exclusive subscription), you'll need to create an account.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure, and for anything that happens under your account.
Please give accurate information when signing up.
You can close your account at any time by contacting us.
We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, though we'll always try to sort out a genuine issue directly first.
4. What We Offer
The Loyal (Free): two free articles delivered to your inbox each week, no payment required.
Individual seasonal issues: each seasonal issue can be purchased individually for £9.99, giving you instant digital access to that issue (24 articles, plus a curated Pinterest board).
The Exclusive (Annual subscription, £24.99/year): gives you all four seasonal issues released during your subscription period, plus full access to our archive of past issues, for as long as your subscription remains active.
Prices are shown in GBP and include any applicable VAT. We reserve the right to change our prices for future purchases or subscription renewals, but we'll always give you reasonable notice before any change affects you.
5. Payment
Payments are processed securely through Squarespace Payments. We don't store your full card details ourselves.
Unless you cancel before your renewal date, The Exclusive will automatically renew annually at the price then in effect, and your payment method will be charged automatically.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
The Exclusive subscription: You can cancel at any time, with no fixed sign-up window and no penalty. Cancelling stops future renewals, meaning you'll keep access to the current subscription period you've already paid for, but won't be charged again after that.
To cancel, do so via your account settings, or by emailing contact@sofiamagazine.co.uk.
All purchases are final. We don't offer refunds for individual issues or for Exclusive subscription payments, including for change of mind. This applies regardless of how much of the current period or issue you've used. This doesn't affect your statutory rights (see Section 7).
Individual issue purchases: As seasonal issues are digital content delivered to you instantly upon purchase, you acknowledge and agree that by completing your purchase, you consent to instant delivery and waive your standard 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
The Loyal (free): Since there's no payment involved, you can unsubscribe from our free weekly articles at any time via the link in any email, or by contacting us.
7. Your Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Our digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it isn't, for example, if a purchased issue is faulty, inaccessible, or significantly different from what was described, you're entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund, regardless of the cancellation waiver in Section 6.
If you believe something's gone wrong, contact us first at contact@sofiamagazine.co.uk; we'll always try to put it right directly.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on Sofia, including articles, issues, graphics, the Sofia name and logo, and the overall design of the Site, belongs to Sofia Magazine Ltd or our licensors, and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You're welcome to read, screenshot for personal use, and share links to our free content. You may not reproduce, republish, or resell our articles or issues, in full or in significant part, without our written permission.
9. Our Liability
We put real care into Sofia's content, but it's provided for general interest and informational purposes; it isn't professional advice (medical, financial, legal, or otherwise), and you should seek qualified advice for anything of this regard.
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Site. This doesn't affect your statutory rights, and nothing in these terms limits our liability for things the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
10. Changes to the Site or These Terms
We may update the Site, our plans, or these terms from time to time as Sofia grows. We'll update the "last updated" date above, and for significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know directly (e.g. by email, if it affects your subscription).
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales.
